PINE RIVER KAYAK ROUTES

Whether you are looking for a casual one-hour stroll on the beautiful Pine River or a day long adventure, our kayak routes can help you plan the trip. We know the river and can shuttle you anywhere from the city of Pine River to just north of its confluence with the mighty Mississippi.


All kayak route maps are approximate, not exact, and intended to help you visualize the route and plan your trip. We are happy to provide a guided river trip for an additional fee.

We recommend Route #11 as being the most family friendly, easy to get into, lazy floating experience. Pack a lunch and have a picnic!

We recommend you pack:

  • Water or beverage of choice

  • Sunscreen, sungalssees, and bug spray

  • Snacks or picnic lunch

  • Waterproof or double sealed bag for phones, binoculars, or cameras

  • Towels and extra clothes could be handy

KAYAK ROUTE #1

Insert at the Pine River Dam, go out at the second crossing of Highway 371. Trip is approximately 3.5 river miles and takes approximately 1.5 hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #2

Insert at the second 371 crossing and exit at County Road 15. Trip is approximately 4 river miles and takes approximately 1.5+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #3

Insert at the Pine River Dam and exit at County Road 15. Trip is approximately 7 river miles and will take approximately 3+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #4

Insert at the second 371 crossing and exit at the Upper Whitefish Boat Landing. Trip is approximately 6 river miles and will take approximately 2+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #5

Insert at the Pine River Dam and exit at the Upper Whitefish Boat Landing. Trip is approximately 9.5 river miles and will take approximately 3+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #6

Insert at County Road 15 and exit at the Upper Whitefish Boat Landing. Trip is approximately 2 river miles and will take approximately 1 hour.

KAYAK ROUTE #7

Insert at the Crosslake Dam and exit at County Road 36. Trip is approximately 2 river miles and will take approximately an hour.

KAYAK ROUTE #8

Insert at the Crosslake Dam and exit at the Rock Dam. Trip is approximately 5 river miles and will take approximately 2+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #9

Insert at the Crosslake Dam and exit at the Snowmobile Trail. Trip is approximately 9.5 river miles and will take approximately 3.5+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #10

Insert at the Crosslake Dam and exit at the Harvey Drake Landing. Trip is approximately 19 river miles and will take approximately 8 hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #11 - MOST POPULAR, FAMILY FRIENDLY ROUTE

Insert at the Rock Dam and exit at the Snowmobile Trail. Trip is approximately 4.5 river miles and will take approximately 2 hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #12

Insert at the Rock Dam and exit at the Harvey Drake Landing. Trip is approximately 14 river miles and will take approximately 6+ hours.

KAYAK ROUTE #13

Insert at the Snowmobile Trail and exit at the Harvey Drake Landing. Trip is approximately 10 river miles and will take approximately 4+ hours.
